HanseMerkur – Tradition with over 140 years of history

HanseMerkur International is part of the HanseMerkur Insurance Group and has been operating on the Swiss travel insurance market since the beginning of 2019. One of our predecessor companies was established in as early as 1875 − Hanseatische Krankenversicherung von 1875 Merkur VVaG. This makes HanseMerkur, the second-oldest private health insurer in Germany. HanseMerkur was offering products for the tourist market long before the establishment of HanseMerkur Reiseversicherung AG as an independent company in 1977. A combination of innovative ideas and tradition is what inspires us to rise to new challenges.
