Which vehicles are covered in rental car insurance?

Rental car insurance applies to vehicles rented from an official and commercially active vehicle rental company. Only rented passenger cars, motorcycles, campers, camping trailers, motorhomes, mobile homes and caravans are insured. Rental car insurance does not apply to car-sharing vehicles, aircraft and watercraft, e-scooters, e-bikes and other electrically powered vehicles, bicycles, scooters, pedal boats and other muscle-powered means of transportation.
For which persons does the insurance cover apply?
Driver and additional driver
The rental car insurance covers the persons named in the insurance policy. In addition to the main driver, this can also be persons entered in the rental agreement.
When do I have to take out rental car insurance?
Before receiving the car
Rental car insurance should be taken out when the vehicle is booked, at the latest before receipt for the entire duration of the lease.

What do I have to do in the event of a claim?
