Emergency hotline service
Our Swiss emergency call centre is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to support you in the event of an emergency during your trip. The experts provide you with advice on aspects such as choosing doctors or hospitals, or can organise repatriation. If an emergency happens during your trip, call: +41 43 550 21 21
Special tariffs available
We offer interesting premiums for families and young adults under 29. A family includes up to 2 adults and a maximum of 7 children up to their 21st birthday.
Insured event
In addition to unexpected and serious illness, the cancellation insurance also covers illness with COVID-19.
One year term with automatic renewal
The insurance cover of the cancellation insurance begins when the insurance policy is sent. The term of one year is automatically extended for another year. However, the insurance can be terminated early with a notice period of 30 days.
Be it due to illness, an accident or an emergency involving a member of the family – every year, thousands of Swiss people are forced to put their holiday plans on hold. Particularly if you are forced to cancel a trip at short notice, you can expect to be faced with a hefty bill for cancellation costs corresponding to as much as 100 per cent of the price of the trip. With HanseMerkur’s annual travel insurance, you can prevent falling into this financial trap: we reimburse you for the contractually owed cancellation costs charged by your tour operator or carrier – without any excess on your part. We also contribute to the rebooking costs if, for example, you have to embark on your trip later than planned, or interrupt a trip you have already embarked on.
Cancellation insurance allows you to avoid a hefty bill if you need to cancel your trip unexpectedly before departure. Mishaps can soon become expensive when you have reached your destination as well. After all, medical services are a very expensive matter in other countries – particularly in places like the US, Canada, Japan or Australia. Similarly, damaged luggage or a legal dispute can leave a real dent in your travel budget. Our tip: save money with our cost-effective annual travel insurance. The annual policy offers worldwide protection for an unlimited number of trips. The premium annual policy also gives you health insurance for travel abroad with top benefits. Did you know?: annual travel insurance can also be taken out for business travel.
