In addition to unexpected and serious illness, the cancellation insurance also covers illness with COVID-19.
Simply set off and enjoy your holiday – Europe offers countless destinations that are easy to reach with your own car, in a mobile home or by train. The Travel Europe travel insurance combines all of the most important benefits, which are tailored to suit travel in Switzerland and within Europe.
Our travel insurance for Europe allows you and your fellow travellers to benefit from favourable conditions. The premiums are also staggered depending on the total price of your trip. This means that you can adjust your premium to suit your specific holiday – depending on whether you are booking a holiday home, planning a boat trip or travelling by car. Whatever you choose, you will always receive comprehensive insurance cover offering optimum protection before and during your trip.
If you have to cancel or terminate your trip due to an unforeseen event, then the Travel cancellation insurance Europe will reimburse you for the cancellation costs or the additional costs associated with the termination or interruption of your trip. If you have to terminate your trip in the second half of your holiday (as of the ninth day), then we will reimburse you for travel services you have already booked, such as yoga courses, massages or surfing lessons, on a pro rata basis.
Particularly if you are driving in your own car, the breakdown assistance included is a valuable addition to your insurance package. If you cannot continue your trip due to a breakdown or an accident, the Travel Europe travel insurance ensures that you receive help on location quickly. We assume the costs of towing the vehicle to the nearest workshop. What if you have to make an unplanned overnight stop elsewhere? HanseMerkur will assume overnight accommodation costs of up to CHF 500 per person and day if the repair work on your vehicle takes longer.
If you need medical assistance in another EU country due to an accident or for any other reason, your health insurer will reimburse you for the costs incurred as a holder of the European Health Insurance Card. The Travel Europe travel insurance provides extra protection beyond this cover. The personal assistance included in the package covers, for example, repatriation where it makes medical sense and assumes search, rescue and recovery costs. The assistance also helps you if you lose credit and customer cards, mobile phones and travel documents.
